Industrial Production Still In the Doldrums

Mexican industrial production rose by a seasonally-adjusted 0.2% in June, after a revised 0.4% decline in May and flat readings in each of the two months before that.  Production in June was up just 1.4% from the same month one year earlier, as weak mining output continues to offset increased output from the utility, construction, and manufacturing sectors.

Industrial Production Falls Again

Mexican industrial production fell by a seasonally-adjusted 0.4% in May, after a 0.1% decline in April and a revised flat reading in March.  The fall in May was the steepest since mid-2013.  Production in May was down 0.9% from the same month one year earlier.

April Industrial Production Falls Slightly

Mexican industrial production fell by a seasonally-adjusted 0.1% in April, after revised increases of 0.1% in March and 0.3% in February.  Production in April was up a modest 1.1% from the same month one year earlier, as sliding mining output offsets continued increases in utility, construction, and manufacturing production.

Industrial Production Flat in March

Mexican industrial production was unchanged during March, after a revised increase of 0.3% in February.  Production in March was up just 1.7% from the same month one year earlier, weighed down by falling petroleum production and soft factory output.

February Industrial Production Rises 0.2 Percent

Mexican industrial production rose by a seasonally-adjusted 0.2% during February, rebounding slightly from its revised declines of 0.1% in January and 0.3% in December.  Production in February was up 1.6% from the same month one year earlier.

January Industrial Production Falls 0.4 Percent

Mexican industrial production fell by a seasonally-adjusted 0.4% in January, after a 0.3% decline in December.  Production in January was up just 0.3% from the same month one year earlier.  The key manufacturing and construction industries continue to trend upward, but falling petroleum production is proving a drag on overall output.
